Today, it costs about $10K per child to provide an enriching, well-rounded education.  Our property taxes and state funding only provide $7K per child.  The passage of Proposition 13 in 1978 dramatically decreased school funding throughout California.

To bridge the financial gap, there are over 600 foundations within California providing supplemental funding and improving the quality of education for their children.  SchoolForce is our Belmont-Redwood Shores Public Education Foundation.

In addition, each of our schools has a strong PTA organization that helps build a cohesive working relationship between our schools and our parent communities to support the education of our children.

Why Support Both?

SchoolForce is the only fundraising organization that can fund personnel, such as teachers, librarians, aides and specialists.

PTA provides funds for volunteer-based programs, field trips, assemblies and school materials, such as books and teaching supplies.

By financially supporting both organizations, we can ensure our children receive the enriched, high-quality education we expect to provide to our children.

“The enhancements to our curriculum provided through the supplemental funding raised by SchoolForce and PTA make the difference between a good education versus and exceptional one.” – Dr. Emerita Orta-Camilleri, Superintendent, Belmont-Redwood Shores School District
